Beginners, Improvers, Intermediate and Teachers Weekly Classes and Events. Summer Term 2025

Our light, airy, beautiful fully equipped studio is open and welcomes you!

In studio and online weekly Iyengar classes and workshops for beginners, intermediate, advanced students, teachers & teacher trainees, co-led by Senior Iyengar Teacher: Isabel Jones Fielding and Intermediate Iyengar Teacher Geoffrey Fielding.

      

“Any ‘Body’ can do yoga”: all welcome. Dynamic, friendly, student centred yoga classes, transforming physical and mental health, and well-being, enabling individuals to grow, learn and develop through the practice of yoga, and movement 4 health.

6 classes a week in-person, and 4 live online classes a week, monthly workshops, professional development courses, teacher training and mentoring for teachers, ‘Soundwalk into Wellbeing” for carers and vulnerable adults, Bowls Club movement 4 health sessions. Whether in studio, out on location, or online, excellent student teacher interaction is the foundation, and we use our state of the art Audio Visual system, designed for broadcasting large scale international yoga conventions from our studio to support access. All in – person classes are held In our fully equipped Iyengar yoga studio, with mega rope wall.

Weekly Classes and Workshops

Monday Introductory Level 2: 5.30-7pm    Isabel and Geoffrey           
For adult students who have attended Iyengar Yoga classes regularly for at least 1 year, or have attended our foundation courses, or by permission of the teacher. Students will be expected to know the principles of Iyengar yoga.

Tuesday Intermediate Level 2 and 3:  5.30–7.15pm         Isabel
For teachers, mentees and experienced students who have attended Iyengar Yoga Classes regularly for over 3 years, and have a regular Iyengar yoga practice. Students will be expected to be able to practice Sarvangasana (shoulder stand) and Sirsasana (head stand), and know the alternative poses.

Thursday Introductory Level 2 :  10-11.30am                      Isabel and Geoffrey
For adult students who have attended Iyengar Yoga classes regularly for at least 18 months, or by permission of the teacher. Students will be expected to know the basic principles of Iyengar yoga and be able to perform Sarvangasana (shoulderstand) with correct equipment .

Thursday Teenagers Class 4.10 – 5.10pm             Isabel                                               This class is designed for visually impaired teenagers and friends to access Iyengar yoga. Its lively, fun, friendly and active. An opportunity to learn the yoga poses, and about the roots of yoga in India and the philosophy that underpins it.

Thursday Beginners/improvers Class:  5.30-6.50pm       Geoffrey                           This in studio only class works really well for beginners to Iyengar yoga, students who have studied other forms of yoga who would like to learn Iyengar Yoga, and also makes a great class for improvers or those returning after a long break.

Saturday Intermediate Level 1: 9.30-11am                          Isabel and Geoffrey              For adult students who have attended Iyengar Yoga classes regularly for at least 2 years, or by permission of the teacher. Students will be expected to know how to perform Sarvangasana (shoulderstand) with correct equipment, and Sirsasana (headstand) with wall support, and know the alternatives.

Sunday Monthly Level 2 yoga intensive workshops 10.30 – 1.30pm  These workshops focus on study of asana/pranayama in the Level 2 syllabus, building understanding from the foundations of the Level 1 syllabus. Ideal for experienced students, Level 1 teachers, mentees and trainee teachers, to further their knowledge, & for anyone intending to take a Level 1 or 2 teaching assessment.  Led by approved Iyengar Yoga (UK) assessor and mentor Isabel Jones Fielding 

Summer Workshops and Events 2025

“Summer is still in the Air”: the art of yoga practice: 26 – 30 Aug Take the opportunity to deep dive into the transformative process of yoga. Stretch, strengthen and relax, in our warm and welcoming studio or online over 5 days. Experience the full spectrum of yoga with; standing poses, seated poses, back bends, breath awareness for healing, meditation in action, recuperative practice and relaxation, pranayama and guided self practice. Yoga philosophy for life, walk into nature. Join the Satsang/discussion BKS Iyengar’s ‘Light on Life’.

All yoga students, friends and family welcome. FREE

Open studio, 26 – 27 Aug. supported self-practice in our fully equipped studio. 

Be guided by experienced teacher Geoffrey Fielding, providing support to develop personal practice, also providing some simple self practice sheets to take away

Coffee and tea’s available in the studio entrance area from 11am – 12.30pm all welcome

6 Morning & Evening classes: 28 – 30th Aug

Learn the full spectrum of yoga with experienced senior teacher Isabel Jones Fielding: standing, seated & back bending asanas, breath awareness, relaxation and pranayama.

‘Yoga For all Bodies’ 2026: 1st March 10 – 4pm (IYSWB)

Yoga ‘is’ for all bodies throughout life. Isabel is part of the national design team on the Assessment and Training Committee IY(UK), programming more than 40 professional development days across the UK and Ireland reaching more than 500 Iyengar yoga teachers. Each year, these days provide a wonderful professional development opportunity for teachers and trainees. 5 hours of CPD. Teacher: Isabel Jones Fielding. This annual professional development day provides an opportunity for yoga teachers and teacher trainees, to come together to work in depth, investigate, study & develop knowledge of teaching together in a supportive environment.

Access

For Deaf students: these classes have been been co-produced by the Deaf yoga community and IYSWB, in honour of the work and life of Kavita Chana (RIP) who was a Deaf yoga teacher, and student at our studio for nearly a decade

Our Thursday evening weekly class can be accessed by Deaf students with speech to text / screen translation available live

For Visually Impaired students: weekly class available co-produced by and with VI people
