Yoga For All Ages
This is an article Isabel wrote for the 2024 / 2025 CPD for teachers Exchange of Learning day Programme. Approximately 42 Days were delivered during the year, reaching more than 500 Iyengar yoga teachers over a 5 hour intensive day run by experienced senior teachers right across the UK and Ireland. The programme is compulsory for Iyengar yoga teachers.
The document draws on Isabel’s background in equal opportunities education, and work with Salamanda Tandem, as well as an intrinsic part of our studio work, to champion inclusion and celebrate difference.
Understanding the role ‘Reasonable Adjustment’ Equality Act 2010 has in teaching yoga, is so important, and specifically in Iyengar yoga, which has lagged behind in the area of Disability Inclusion for many years.
