Isabel Jones Fielding: Convention Producer
Between 2013 – 2024 Isabel produced and directed 15 large scale yoga conventions for IY(UK): working with professional colleagues and volunteers to realise potential, building up friendliness, quality, AV design and scale, into a hugely popular 3 day community gathering for teachers and practitioners to learn yoga from the world’s best teachers. Working together with musician / yoga teacher Vanessa McNaught between 2013 – 2018, convention organiser Catherine Gresty 2017 – 2024, technical support / broadcast Geoffrey Fielding 2020 – 2024 and managing a large team of volunteers. Between 2017 – 2023, Isabel also developed 9 Equity, Diversity and Inclusion talks, discussions, seminars for up to 2000 IY(UK) members to explore barriers to access, hear experts with lived experience of discrimination, and discuss how Iyengar yoga could become more inclusive. Isabel, Catherine and Geoffrey also took conventions online during the Pandemic, creating 5 online conventions, and developing the first large scale Hybrid Iyengar yoga convention of its kind in the world for over 800 practitioners.
